How to Cook Apple Upside-Down Pie

Ingredients of the recipe

  • ½ teaspoon of ground nutmeg
  • ½ cup of tightly packed light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup of chopped walnut
  • 2 tablespoon of all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup of melted butter
  • ¼ cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 of 15 ounces of package piecrust, refrigerated and divided
  • 2 pieces of peeled large yellow gold apples
  • 4 average-size Green Crispy apples peeled and make into pieces of 1” chunks size.

The Method of Preparation

  • Heat your oven to 375 in temperature. Whisk together 1 cup of chopped walnuts, ½ cup of firmly packed light brown sugar, 1/3 cup of melted butter and spread them on bottom of a 9” pie plate, make sure there is excess crust hanging on the sides.

  • Whisk Green Crispy apples and the next five ingredients of this recipe together and spoon the mixture into crust, stuffing the mixture firmly and mounding them at the center. Then place the piecrust that remains over the filling and compress the crust together also fold under the edges as well as crimps. Put your pie on foil-lined jelly-roll pan made of aluminum and make an opening of four to five where steam can escape from.

  • Bake your mixture at 375 degree oven temperature on a lower rack of oven for an hour and continue until you produce thick and bubby juice. The crust that will come out of your pan will be golden brown in color and the apples tender when you piece them with wooden pick. Then cover the pie with aluminum foil for 50 minutes so as to avoid excessive browning. Cool your Apple Upside-down on the wire rack for about 10 minutes and invert the apple over a serving plate and remove the apple plate to form the shape you want, allow it to cool off completely then serve.
