Bitter Melon or Bitter Gourd is a type of vegetable that can also be called as a fruit. It is used in lots of recipes and it is bitter in taste. The vegetable is a vital part of Momordica Charantia that belongs to a family of Cucurbitaceae. This fruit is grown in most parts of South America. The diabetic effective edible fruit is green in color and has elongated shape.

Bitter Gourd has sufficient amounts of vitamins and minerals present. The Asian countries mostly use it as one of the major ingredients in curries. The length of this tropical vegetable can vary a lot with the shape. The average size of this vegetable is around 20–30 cm.
