Chinese Sesame Beef Recipe

 

Toasted Sesame seeds bring the distinct smoky aroma to this Chinese sesame beef recipe.  You can make this crispy sesame marinated beef that taste superb and easy to make recipe for the guest. The sesame marinade would also be good with chicken fillet and other lean meat fillets.

 

SERVES                 4

 

Ingredients: Chinese Sesame Beef Recipe

½ kg   rum steak

1 tbsp sesame oil

2 tbsp sesame seeds

1 ½ cups small mushrooms, quartered

2 tbsp vegetable oil

1 large bell green pepper, seeded and diced

4 scallions, chopped diagonally

 

For the Chinese Sesame marinade

2 tbsp cornstarch

2 tbsp rice wine or sherry or rice vinegar

1 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp lemon juice

1 garlic clove, crushed

1inch long ginger root, peeled and grated

Few drops Tabasco sauce

 

This sesame marinade would also be good with lean meat fillet or chicken breast.

 

 

Preparation Method: Chinese Sesame Beef Recipe

First make the marinade, combine the cornstarch with the rice wine or sherry or rice vinegar. Include the remaining ingredients of the marinade. Remove any part of fat from the steak and cut into thin strips about 2 inches long and ½ inch thick.

Place the sesame seeds in a wok or large frying pan. Sauté over medium heat, keep shaking the pan until the sesame seeds are golden. Set aside.

Heat the oil in a large frying pan. Drain the beef strips, reserving the marinades and cook until little brown. Remove with a slotted spoon.

Now place the mushrooms and pepper and fry for 2-3 minutes, stirring continuously. Add the scallions and cook for another minute.

Add the ready beef and reserved marinade and stir over medium heat for 2 minutes or evenly coated with the glaze. Sprinkle with the toasted sesame seeds and serve.
