Halloumi or haloumi cheese is an un-ripened, semi-hard, brined cheese that is made from a mixture of sheep’s and goat’s milk and occasionally also with cow’s milk in the Cyprus. Haloumi cheese has a high melting point; it can easily be fried or grilled.
Fried Haloumi Cheese Recipe is quite unusual but you can perfectly make crispy fried haloumi for an unexpected vegetarian guest. This great recipe is perfect as part of mezze palter or dished up with drinks.

Ingredients: Fried Haloumi Cheese Recipe
600 g haloumi cheese, sliced thickly
2/3 cup olive oil
1/3 cup Almond
¼ cup balsamic vinegar
2 garlic clove, crushed
¼ cup finely shredded fresh basil

Heat 2 tbsp of oil on barbecue plate, cook almond until crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
Cook cheese on heated oiled barbecue plate, uncovered until browned from both the sides.
Combine remaining oil, vinegar, garlic and basil in small bowl.
Drizzle cheese with dressing; sprinkle with almond. Serve Fried Haloumi Cheese with Red cabbage if desired.
