These delectable chocolate truffles are ideal for serving after dinner or for gifts as they are an unusual home-made present. These truffles are delicious and very easy to make at home.

200g Chocolate chips
15g butter or margarine
2 tbsp single cream
2 tbsp instant coffee or brandy for coating
3 tbsp cocoa powder
3 tbsp ground blanched almonds
Homemade Chocolate Truffles Recipe
Combine the chocolate chips along with butter in a bowl. Melt on medium for 3-4 minutes, stirring two or three times during this period to create a smooth cream.
Lightly beat the egg yolks and add these to the melted chocolate mixture and combined well to incorporate them completely.
Blend the cream and instant coffee or brandy well and make smooth mixture.
Chill the chocolate mixture in a refrigerator for 1 hour or until it is firm.
Divide the mixture into 30 equal-sized pieces and roll these into small balls using your hands.
Keep the ground almonds and cocoa powder onto separate plates and gently roll few for chocolate coating and remaining for almond coating.
Place the coated truffles into individual cases and refrigerate until they are ready to serve.
If the chocolate balls become too soft to make them into shape, keep them back into the refrigerator for a few minutes again to set and then continue.
You can use white chocolate in place of chocolate chips and fruit liquor in place of brandy or coffee.
