لوکی چنا دال | Lauki Chana Dal Recipe | Bottle Gourd with Bengal Gram

 

Lauki Chana Dal, it is a simple and healthy curry recipe that uses Bottle Gourd (Lauki, Doodhi, or Ghiya) and Chana Dal (Bengal Gram Dal). It is popular in all parts of Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Punjab (India)

Ingredients:

2 cup Chana dal

1 cup Bottle gourd

1 medium-size Onion

Small Tomato 1 piece

Salt as taste

1 tbsp Red chili

1 tbsp Turmeric powder

One tbsp Cumin powder

For Garnishing

Green chili

Coriander leaves

For Tarka

1 small Onion slice

4-5 whole red chili

1 tsp Cumin seeds

3 tbsp Oil

Preparation Method:

In a deep pot add oil.

Heat it up.

Add onion fry it till golden.

Then add tomatoes, red chili, salt, and turmeric powder.

Cook it till tomatoes are soft.

Add soaked DAL CHANA.

Mix it then add water.

Cook till dal is half cooked.

Add Bottle Groud (lauki) in it.

Then add water.

Cover it and cook.

Wait till Lauki is well cooked.

Sprinkle cumin powder.

Mix it well.

Garnish it with green chili and coriander leaves.

Dish it out.

 

 

Method of Tarka

 In frying add oil.

Then add whole red chili, cumin seeds, and sliced cut onion.

Fry it till light golden.

Give the Tarka over the dal.

Serve it with Chapatti and Rice.
