Basmati long grain rice         2 cups
Cumin seeds                                  1 tbsp
Ginger, shredded                          1 tbsp
Shelled peas                                  2 cups
Coriander powder                        2 tsp
Turmeric powder                        2 tsp
Spices powder (garam masala) Â Â Â 1 tsp
Ghee                                               2 tbsp
Salt                                                  to taste
Water                                              as required

Preparation method:

Place the pan over the medium heat source and add the cooking oil, ginger and cumin seeds.
Add the turmeric, salt, garam masala, peas and rice when the ginger turns brown.
Stir fry well and leave the pan uncovered.
Adjust the heat to lower level and add the 3-5 cups of water and bring to boil for few minutes.
Rice will be ready in 10-15 minutes.
Serve Matar Pulao Recipe hot with green salad.
