Ingredients:

Meat and Onion Crispies Recipe

Mutton Mince, 400 grams

Onion (Chopped), 1

Margarine or butter, 40 grams

Plain flour, 25 grams

Milk, 150 ml

Dried mix herbs, 1 teaspoon

Egg (beaten), 1

Fresh white breadcrumbs, 50 grams

Vegetable Oil, For deep frying

 

Preparation Method:

Melt the margarine in a small saucepan, add the mutton mince and onion and fry over moderate heat for 3-4 minutes.

Sprinkle in the flour and whisk over low heat for 1-2 minutes until become straw-colored. Now remove from heat and gradually mix in the milk.

Return the pan to the heat and cook for 2-3 minutes, keep stirring until become very thick and creamy. Remove from the heat and leave to cool.

Stir the herbs into the mixture and divide into 8 equal portions then turn each portion into a ball. (see preparation). Put the egg and breadcrumbs in separate shallow dishes.

Roll each ball in the egg then coat with the breadcrumbs.

Heat enough oil to cover the balls in a deep-fat fryer to 180C or until a stale bread cube browns in 60 seconds. Add the balls to the oil a few and deep fries for 2-3 minutes until golden brown on all sides.

Drain the Meat and Onion Crispies on absorbent paper and serve at once.
