Pan-Fried Beef with Creamy Mushrooms

Ingredients: Pan-Fried Beef with Creamy Mushrooms



Medallions beef                                   4

Shallots, peeled                                   225 g

Olive oil                                                2 tbsp

Tomatoes                                            4

Flat mushrooms                                125 g

Brandy                                                3 tbsp

Red wine                                             150 ml

Double cream                                     4 tbsp

Salt                                                       to taste

Ground black pepper                        to taste

Baby new potato                                to serve

Freshly cooked green beans            to serve



Preparation Method:

Pan-Fried Beef with Creamy Mushrooms


Cut the shallots in half if large the chop the garlic. Heat the oil in a large frying pan and cook the shallots of about 8 minutes, stirring occasionally until almost softened. Add the garlic and beef and cook for 8-10 minutes, turning once during cooking until the meat is browned all over. Using a slotted spoon, transfer the beef to a plate and keep warm.


Rinse the tomatoes and cut into pieces then wipe the mushrooms and slice. Add to the pan and cook for 5 minutes, stirring frequently until the mushrooms have softened.


Pour in the brandy and heat through. Draw the pan off the heat and carefully ignite. Allow the flames to subside. Pour in the wine, return to the heat and bring to the boil. Boil until reduced by one-third. Draw the pan off the heat, season to taste with salt and pepper, add the cream and stir.


Arrange the Pan-Fried Beef with Creamy Mushrooms on serving plates and spoon over the sauce. Serve with baby new boil potatoes and green beans.

    Hey Srini,This is a nice approach. Whenever I set goals I try to break them down to short, actionable steps (something I can do daily). What I have found works best is to commit to a ritual (read: daily habits). With larger goals, well, I treat them like I do a client project and I am trying some new approaches with everything I have outlined for my blog in the next 3-6 months, so this is the approach or similar to something like, I might just come back. Thanks, my friend and keep on posting killer posts!
