Ingredients: Savoy Cabbage Recipe

1 savory cabbage about 1 kg

3 dried red chilies

3 tbsp oil

1 tsp mustard seeds

1 tbsp chickpea flour

2 tbsp fresh ginger, finely chopped

Salt

1 tsp turmeric powder

3 tbsp desiccated coconut

 

Preparation Method: Savoy Cabbage Recipe

Pull any limp leaves from the cabbage. Separate the remaining leaves wash and slice into fine strips. Wash, halve, de-seed and finely chop the chilies.

Bring a little salted water to the boil in a saucepan. Blanch the strips of cabbage quickly in the water then drain in a sieve.

Heat the oil in a deep non-stick frying-pan and fry the mustard seed briefly. Add the chick-pea flour, ginger, chilies, turmeric, coconut and cabbage.

Fry vigorously over a high heat for a few minutes. Then cook over a low heat for 10 minutes until soft, stirring occasionally. Add salt as per you taste.

Serve Savoy Cabbage dish with boiled brown rice.
