Spaghetti with Meatballs Recipe | Italian Recipes

Delicious Spaghetti with Meatballs Recipe that is loved by adults and kids. It is an easy Italian recipe of tasty beef meatballs that are cooked with tomato sauce mixed with spaghetti. Spaghetti with Meatballs is a traditional Italian-American dish.




Spaghetti with Meatballs Recipe | Italian Recipes


Spaghetti                                            350 g

Tomatoes, chopped                          400 g

Tomato paste                                    1 tbsp

Chili sauce                                          1 tsp

Brown sugar                                       ¼ tsp

Cheddar cheese                                 75 g

Salt                                                      to taste

Freshly ground pepper                    to taste

Cheddar cheese                                 to serve

Freshly chopped parsley                  to garnish

Freshly chopped oregano                 to garnish


For the Meatballs:


Lean beef mince                              450 g

Onion, peeled and chopped            1 large

Egg, beaten                                       1

Tomato paste                                   1 tbsp

Freshly chopped parsley                2 tbsp

Freshly chopped oregano               1 tbsp



Preparation Method:

Preheat the oven to 200 C, 15 minutes before using. Place the chopped tomatoes, chili sauce, tomato paste and brown sugar in a saucepan. Now add salt and pepper as per your taste and bring it to boil. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes, then cook uncovered for another 10 minutes or until the sauce has reduced and thickened.


Meanwhile, make the meatballs. Place the meat, breadcrumbs and onion in a food processor. Blend until all the ingredients and well mixed. Add the beaten eggs, oregano, parsley and tomato paste and season to taste with salt.


Shape the mixture into a small ball, about the size of an apricot and place on an oiled baking tray. Cook meatballs in preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until cooked and browned.


Meanwhile, take a large pan of little salted water to a rolling boil. Add the pasta and cook according to the packet instructions or until ‘al dente’.


Drain the pasta and return to the pan. Pour over the tomato sauce and toss gently to coat the spaghetti. Tip into a warmed serving dish and top with the meatballs, Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately with grated cheese.
