Stir-Fried Spinach Recipe

This is an easy veggie recipe to make a quick accompaniment to a main course. The water chestnuts give a delicious crunch to the greens.

Ingredients: Stir-Fried Spinach Recipe

500 g spinach, hard stalks removed

1 garlic clove, halved

2 spring onions, finely sliced

200 g can water chestnuts, drained and finely sliced

1 tsp sherry vinegar

1 tsp light soy sauce

Black pepper

 

Preparation Method: Stir-Fried Spinach Recipe

 

Heat the oil in a large frying pan over a high heat.

Add the garlic and cook, stirring for 1 minute. Take care that it not to let it burn.

Add the sliced spring onions and chopped water chestnuts, if using and mix for 2-3 minutes. Add in the spinach.

Add the soy sauce, sherry vinegar and sprinkle the black pepper. Cook and keep stirring, until spinach is tendered. Remove the garlic halves.

Transfer to fried spinach to a warmed serving dish, using a slotted spoon in order to drain off the excess liquid.

Serve Stir-Fried Spinach warm with the main dish.
