Wakame is a type of Kelp that frequently used in American and European dishes. It is seaweed that has dark green leaves. Commonly known as a cleanser it is harvested in Japan and Tasmania.  Normally it is available during the spring season. As an integral part of miso soup, it can provide slightly sweet taste. Just like the way cucumber is used, this green plant is a convenient choice for the salads. Naturally, it can increase its volume after cooking because it can swell a lot. It can be cut into pieces in order to make its leaves dry.

 

Just like other sea vegetables, there are some health benefits as well. This edible food source can provide aid in recovering from the effects of child birth. In English Wakame is also called sea mustard; it is also equipped with eicosapentaenoic acid and omega-3 fatty acids.
