Baking has been a personal favorite of mine for a long time and though I have tried more savory dishes compared to baked goodies, however, I have almost always enjoyed baking and of course the cookies recipes as well. Here is one of my favorite Peanut Butter Blossoms Recipe by Chef Shireen Anwer.

 

Ingredients:

Peanut Butter Blossoms Recipe

3 dozen Hershey Kisses (chocolates)
¾ cup Peanut butter creamy
½ cup shortening
1 ½ cup flour (sifted)
1/3 cup each of granulated sugar and brown sugar
2 tbsp milk
One egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking soda
Granulated sugar for rolling of dough balls

 

Preparation Method:

Beat the peanut butter and shortening until fully blended.

Add brown and granulated white sugar and beat until fluffy.

Add vanilla, milk, and egg and beat well. Now gradually add flour, salt and baking soda in the peanut butter mixture and form a dough.

Shape the dough into balls of 1 inch and roll in the extra granulated sugar. Place the balls on a cookie sheet. Do not grease the sheet.

Press the balls to give a cookie shape and place in a preheated 180°C oven for 10 minutes.

Immediately after taking out the baking sheet, place a Hershey chocolate kiss on top of each cookie. The cookies will crack from the edges. Remove all cookies from the baking sheet and place them all on a wire rack to cool.
