Toasted Almond-Butter Cake Recipe

• 5 large separated eggs
• ½ cup of softened margarine or butter
• 2 ¼ cups of all-purpose flour
• ½ cup of shortening
• 1 ¼ teaspoons of baking soda
• ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract
• 1 teaspoon of almond extract
• ½ teaspoon of butter flavoring
• 1 cup and 2 tablespoons of butter milk
• ½ teaspoon of butter flavoring
• Cream Cheese Frosting
• 1 cup of flaked coconut
• ½ cup of toasted slivered almonds (if you want)
• 1 cup of slivered almonds chopped and toasted.

 

 

Preparation Method: Toasted Almond-Butter Cake Recipe

 

 

1. Stir shortening and butter at an average speed using an electric blender until the mixture turned creamy. Gently add your sugar and ensure you stir thoroughly. Beat in your egg yolk.

2. Mix baking soda and flour; add mixture of flour on the other hand with buttermilk, starting and ending your beating with flour mixture. Make sure you beat slowly until you get a well blended solution after adding each flour mixture. Beat in flavoring, chopped almond and coconut.

3. Stir egg whites at high speed using electric blender or continue until there is stiff peaks form. Then fold into batter. Put the mixture into three floured and greased 9” round cakepans.

4. Bake your cake at 350 degree for about 20 to 22 minutes or continue to bake until a wooden pick at the center of the cake comes out without stain. Cool your cake by placing it on wire racks.

5. Sprinkle Cream Cheese Frosting within the layers of your cake as well as on top and sides of your cake. Spread with half cup of slivered almonds if you want.
