Beef Escalopes is a fantastic main course meal that you can make in less than 35 minutes. The traditional and classic beef escalope with plums is one of the tastiest beef recipes. Beef escalopes (Each weighing 50grams), 8

Can red plums (drained), 540 grams

Vegetable oil, 2 tablespoon

Margarine or butter, 25 grams

Onion (finely chopped), 1

Cider or apple vinegar, 150 ml

Cinnamon powder, 1 teaspoon

Salt & Black pepper,


Preparation Method:

Carefully remove the stones from the plums, keeping them as a bigger piece as possible if using canned plumps.

Make the sauce: Heat half the oil and half the margarine in a pan, include onion in the pan and fry softly for 10 minutes until softened. Pour in the cider/ vinegar and bring to boil. Add the salt, black pepper and spices as per your taste. Stir well then lower the heat, cover and cook the sauce lightly for another 5 minutes.

Add the plums to the sauce, cover and simmer very gently for a further 5 minutes, taking care not to break up the palms. Taste and adjust seasoning.

Meanwhile, divide the remaining oil and margarine between 2 large frying pan and heat gently. Add the Beef escalopes and cook over high heat for 3-5 minutes on each side until browned.

To serve, arrange the beef escalopes on a warmed serving dish and spoon over the sauce.

Do not overcook or keep the beef escalopes warm as they will toughen. They should be cooked while the sauce and plums are cooking.


Buying Guide: 

If you use fresh plums, you will need 250 grams, stone out and sliced. Add them the sauce with the cider / Apple vinegar and cook for 10-15 minutes.
