If you like to eat celery then try this easy side dish of Celery in White Wine. This is an easy and low-cost dinner. This celery dish looks calm and refreshed.

Preparation and Cooking Time   30 minutes


Celery in White Wine

1 bead celery around 500g

2 shallots

50g butter

½ tsp flour

Salt and white pepper

125ml dry white wine

1 tbsp chopped herbs (basil, parsley, tarragon, chives)


Preparation Method:

Celery in White Wine

Trim the celery and cut off any leaves and reserve. Separate the stalks and wash. Chop into 2cm pieces.

Dice the shallots and put in a microwave dish with 20g butter. Fry for 2 minutes at 600 watts until transparent. Then add the celery. Now add salt and pepper and pour in the white wine. Cover and cook for 10 minutes at the same heat.

Knead the remaining butter with the flour. Stir into the vegetable. Uncover and cook for 4-5 minutes at 600 watts.

Served sprinkled with herbs and finely chopped celery leaves.

Celery in White Wine could be an accompaniment to braised or sweet corn rissoles.

Cook’s Tip:

In a conventional oven, Celery in White Wine would take twice the time to cook.
